Corporate profile
|
| Fabrene® woven
polyethylene fabrics offer extremely high tensile and tear strength
in relation to its light weight. Fabrene is resistant to tearing
and to climate extremes including ultraviolet sunlight exposure,
is moisture proof, and is impervious to rot, mildew and most
chemicals. It is also easy to handle, cut, staple and sew. The
success of Fabrene Inc. in world markets is directly attributable
to the development of proprietary woven polyethylene fabric technology,
ISO 9001 production standards, wide coating width capabilities,
and engineering support. |

 |
The Fabric of Choice
|

|
Fabrene has become the fabric of choice in
many industrial applications including bale wrap, lumber wrap
and other wrapping and bagging uses, as well as protective coverings
from construction enclosures and roofing fabric to granular material
storage covers, pond liners and air infiltration barriers, sports
field and golf green covers. The list of uses grows constantly
as the attributes of the fabric gain worldwide recognition. Frequently,
the strength of Fabrene's engineering group is called on to match
a final product to its intended use. |
|
Widest coating capability
|
| Woven from oriented strands of
polyethylene film (tapes), fabric can be then finished with transparent
or color coatings on one or both sides in widths up to 156 inches
(3,96 m).Typical roll lengths range from 460m to 4600m. Fabrene
Inc. is recognized as the largest manufacturer of coated woven
polyethylene fabrics in the world. Fabrene's 400, 000 sq. ft.
fully automated plant in Ontario, Canada, has both the capacity
to fill long run orders and the flexibility to engineer and produce
specialized shorter runs. |
 |
Strong Roots A Solid Future
|
| Fabrene was developed
in the late sixties by Du Pont research laboratories and the
original plant was constructed exclusively for its production.
Fabrene, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Polymer Group,
Inc., a New York Stock Exchange listed company specializing in
the design, manufacturing and marketing of engineered materials
for applications in hygiene, medical, wiping and industrial applications.
Fabrene now has 2
plants strategically located in North
Bay, Ontario and Portland Oregon. In terms of production,
this means customers have a more secure source of supply.
In recent years, the company
has expanded to include coated polypropylene fabrics, and from
its acquired plant in Oregon, USA, paper-backed lumber wrap
to complement its successful Arbrene line. |
